COVID-19: Mapping Hospitals and Testing Centers in Tamilnadu Using QGIS

The number of COVID cases continuing to rise all across the globe. The Novel Coronavirus disease was discovered in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. It is now officially known as COVID-19. It is an infectious disease. It spreads from person to person.
The first person affected by corona was in Wuhan, China. In India, the first person affected by coronavirus infection was founded on January 30, 2020, in Kerala, with a travel history from Oman. The first person affected by Corona in Tamil Nadu on March 08, 2020 with travel history from abroad.
Day by day, affected cases are increasing all over the world, and using QGIS Software is used to track the spread of the disease. It portrays the current status of corona affected, death, and cured cases.

The QGIS Cloud Map contains the details of the current positive cases, deaths, and cured cases of COVID 19. Hospitals that are currently treating the disease and test centers with address, working hours, and contact number. Hover on the symbols shown on the map to acquire the information. To know the district wise current status, click on this link to have a clear view of respective regions.  

Colour codes for Districts

The districts are differentiated based on the number of cases using color codes such as Red, Green, Orange. 
The red zone represents that many cases in these districts. The red zone districts are Chennai, Tiruvallur Ranipet, Kancheepuram, Chengalpettu, Vellore, Villupuram, Tirupathi, Cuddalore, Perambalur, Selam, Namakkal, Erode, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Karur, Tiruchirappalli, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Theni, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Ramanathapuram, Tuticorin, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari
In orange zones, districts have limited or fewer corona cases for the past 14 days. Nilgiris, Dharmapuri, Tiruvannamalai, Kllakurichi, Ariyalur, Pudukkottai, Sivagangai are the districts under the orange zone. Limited activities are allowed by the government in these areas. Krishnagiri, a district from the green zone, had entered the orange zone a few days ago. Green zone districts represent that there are no corona cases over a long time.

A District which has twenty or more cases, it is considered as a red zone in Tamil Nadu. If the district has ten to twenty cases, it falls under Orange zones. Green zone will consider safe with no corona cases reported in the district. 
With limited transportation, national lockdowns are becoming hard to resist. For emergencies, the government provides the Epass for vehicles for travel inside the contaminated zones. In this app, we can see the latest updates, and we can store the epass for emergency travel. We can download this app from google play store or Download using this link and get the Scan QR code for the Aarogya Setu app.

Conclusion

Coronavirus disease affects the respiratory organs and even cause death. No vaccines have been discovered to cure coronavirus Disease. But, there is ongoing research to find the vaccine to cure the COVID-19. The spread can be controlled by maintaining social distance and wearing a face mask. It is essential to follow the advice of the government to make Tamilnadu or India COVID free. Stay home. Stay safe!
